RTPark

Relationship with UVI

As a public corporation and autonomous instrumentality of the USVI government, RTPark is affiliated with – and also separate from – the University of the Virgin Islands.  UVI was instrumental in the formation of RTPark in 2002, however, and is a key stakeholder.  The synergistic relationship between RTPark and UVI is framed in the Guiding Principles agreement executed in 2002.  Since RTPark’s economic development incentives are aligned with UVI’s workforce development objectives, our affiliation with UVI is central to any tenant relationship.

Founded as the College of the Virgin Islands in 1962, UVI is a publicly-funded land grant institution that offers undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs under a liberal arts curriculum.  UVI maintains campuses on St. Thomas and St. Croix, serves the Caribbean basin, and is committed to advancing scholarship, fostering human development, and promoting democratic values to improve the quality of life in the USVI and beyond.

In addition to providing new opportunities for joint research between UVI, RTPark and RTPark’s tenants, RTPark’s affiliation with UVI provides a professional environment with access to world-class infrastructure, critical support services, and UVI resources – including links to faculty and students available for engagement in consultation, internship and employment, as the case may be.  By engaging UVI, RTPark tenants strengthen the academic and financial capabilities of UVI, helping the institution develop a highly skilled and globally-competitive workforce.  Specific opportunities may include:
